BASIC REQUIREMENTS FOR ALL POSITIONS:

  • 18 years or older

  • Authorized to work in the U.S.

  • On-time everyday

  • Positive attitude

  • Be able to lift 50 lbs.

  • Be able to work outdoors - it's hot and humid in the summer and cold in the winter

2023 Available Positions

  • Maintenance Crew Member - 1 Position Available

    • Requirements

      • Meet Basic Requirements For All Positions

      • No experience required - Most new hires start out in this position.

    • Goal: Our goal is to have you fully trained as quickly as possible in order to promote you to Maintenance Crew Leader so you can run your own crew get paid more.

    • Pay Range: $18-$20/hr (depending on experience)

  • Maintenance Crew Leader - 1 Position Available

    • Requirements

      • Meet Basic Requirements For All Positions

      • Prove that you are proficient in using zero turn mowers (Exmark Lazer Z), walk-behind mowers (Exmark Turf Tracer), ​and small equipment (Stihl) like string trimmers, stick edgers, hedge trimmers, and blowers.

      • Prove that you can be trusted and provide a quality job before allowed to run your own truck.

      • You must learn how our company provides maintenance services to clients (Different services packages, etc)

      • Know how to manage a crew. Understand and enforce our quality standards for service.

      • Meet or beat budgeted job hours. Bonus for finishing faster with no callbacks or complaints.

      • ​1 year experience minimum

    • Goal: Our goal depends on your goal. Maintenance work for us is the same accounts each week. 

    • $20-$22/hr (depending on experience)

  • Installation Crew Member - 4 Positions Available

    • Requirements

      • Meet Basic Requirements For All Positions

      • No experience required - New hires may start out in this position, depending on where we need the most help.

    • Goal: Our goal is to have you learn how to properly do every installation service we offer as quickly as possible in order to promote you to Installation Crew Leader or specialize in a particular service that requires a higher level of skill (like Irrigation Tech or Hardscape Tech) so you can run your own crew get paid more.

    • Pay Range: $18-$22/hr (depending on experience)

  • Installation Crew Leader - No Openings at This Time

    • Requirements

      • Meet Basic Requirements For All Positions

      • Ability to read landscape designs

      • Ability to drive a large truck with a heavy trailer and ability to back up trailer.

      • Install plant material, drainage, install and repair irrigation, install and repair lighting, install sod, 

      • Run mini skid steers, skid steers, excavators, compactors, and other equipment.

      • Minimum 2 years in landscaping

      • Minimum 1 year crew leading

    • Goal: Our goal is to continue to grow your skill sets and feed you and your crew better and better projects and pay you more to manage them. You can also choose to specialize in a particular service we offer, be promoted to a manager, or work in landscape design and sales if you learn how to do it.

    • Pay Range: $22-$25/hr (depending on experience)

  • Hardscape Technician - 1 Position Available

  • Requirements

    • Meet Basic Requirements For All Positions

    • Install pergolas, patios, retaining walls, etc.​

    • Run mini skid steers, skid steers, excavators, compactors, and other equipment.

    • Must have knowledge proper construction methods.

    • Must be able to demonstrate quality work cutting block, using a laser, know how to deal with elevations, etc.

  • Goal: Help grow our hardscape division so we can promote you as manager over the department.

  • Pay Range: $20-$25/hr

  • Irrigation Technician - 1 Position Available

    • Requirements

      • Meet Basic Requirements For All Positions

      • Inspect and diagnose issues.​

      • Repair and maintain mostly residential irrigation systems.

      • Run service calls solo or with a helper.

      • Must have knowledge of electrical and hydraulic troubleshooting and valve locating and wire tracing. 

      • 1 year experience minimum

    • Goal: Help grow our irrigation division so we can promote you as manager over the department.

    • Pay Range: $20-$25/hr

  • Spray Technician - 1 Position Available

    • Requirements

      • Meet Basic Requirements For All Positions

      • 1 year experience minimum

      • Inspect and diagnose lawn issues​

      • ID weeds and lawn diseases

    • Goal: Help grow our lawn care division so we can promote you as manager over the department. 

  • Pay Range: $20-$25/hr

Once we receive your application, we will contact via email to schedule a phone interview if we find you to be a good fit for the role. We are always marketing for all positions although we may not be hiring at that time. You will be automatically signed up for our email list and when we are hiring, you will receive an email about the position.

Step 3 - The Interview

 

After speaking by phone we may invite you to do an in-person interview at our shop location. The interview process allows us to get to know each other. We want to know what makes you tick, what motivates you and why you think McBrayer Landscapes is the right company for you. Come prepared with questions for us. We are not interested in short term employment…we want you to be sure we are the right company for you.

If you are right for the position we will make you a formal job offer. We will clearly communicate the expectations of the role.
